Wellcare Center

Located on the campus of Helen Keller Hospital, the Keller Wellcare Center is a 20,000 square foot structure dedicated to fitness, prevention, and rehabilitation. With a wide spectrum of equipment, including, but not limited to, treadmills, Lifecycle recumbent bicycles, NuStep recumbent steppers, elliptical trainers, free weights, and an indoor walking track, the Wellcare Center is a total fitness facility. Through individual, family, and corporate memberships, the Wellcare Center provides the following services:

The Wellcare staff works hand-in-hand with other Keller health specialists, including dietitians, rehabilitation therapists, and respiratory therapists to assist its members in a healthy lifestyle and rehabilitation from illness or injury.


CORPORATE BENEFITS
The Keller Wellcare Center provides benefits to local business and industry with corporate education, such as stress management and smoking cessation. With the work hardening and conditioning program at Keller Wellcare, corporate members are provided with the expertise to cultivate healthy employees or return injured employees to their former productive lifestyle.

Employees of corporate members are encouraged to establish a regular exercise routines, in the belief that a healthy employee is a more productive employee.

WELLCARE CENTER HOURS
The Wellcare Center is open seven days each week.

Monday through Friday 5:00 am until 9:00 pm
Saturday 8:00 am until 3:00 pm
Sunday 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm

BABYSITTING SERVICES
For the convenience of our members, the Keller Wellcare Center offers babysitting services at no additional charge
Monday through Friday 8:00 am until 11:00 am
Monday through Thursday 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm
Friday 3:00 pm until 6:30 pm
Saturday 8:30 am until 11:30 am

POOL HOURS
Mondays 6:00 am – 8:00 pm
Wednesdays, Fridays 5:15 am – 8:00 pm
Tuesdays, Thursdays 8:00 am – 8:00 pm
Saturdays 8:00 am – 1:00 pm
Sundays Closed

All structured aquatic classes will be 45 minutes. Only class participants will be allowed to utilize the pool during scheduled classes.

Individuals are ONLY permitted in the pool area prior to or immediately following (5-10 minutes) a pool session, i.e. therapy, aerobics, adult swim. Individuals accompanying a patient may remain in the pool area during the session.

Members must be 16 years old to utilize the pool during Adults on Their Own.

Members ages 13-15 may attend structured classes with a parent. These members will not be allowed to utilize the pool during Adults on Their Own.

Children ages 12 & under will be allowed to utilize the pool during Family Affair only. A parent must be in the pool with their child and within arm’s reach at all times during Family Affair. Children will be required to demonstrate their swimming ability.

Adults on their own - Open pool time for members 16 years of age and older. No one under 16 years of age will be allowed in pool during this time. This is not a structured class.


Family Affair
Open pool time for all members. Members and their children will be allowed to use the pool during this time. Children must demonstrate their swimming ability. A parent must be in the pool and within arm’s reach of children at all times.

Aqua Aid
Open swim time for members who need assistance utilizing the pool. A pool attendant will be in the water to assist members during this time. This is not a structured class.

Liquid Power
This power and strength water class is an incredibly challenging program for athletes or those demanding a higher intensity workout. If your goal is to improve your speed, strength, coordination, athleticism, and vertical jumping ability, this workout is for you.

Aqua Combo
This is the perfect workout for beginner to advanced levels. The instructor will lead you in variations of lunges, kicks, jumping jacks, jogs, and circular movements. Strengthening and toning will be included along with cool down and stretch.

Arthritis
This class is designed for people of any age living with arthritis and other related diseases. This class will include activities and exercises to encourage self care, provide social interaction, improve muscular strength, endurance and flexibility, manage pain, and relieve symptoms of arthritis. Low intensity endurance will be incorporated where the water temperature is 83-88 degrees.

Sr. Splash PLUS
This program includes exercises and components from the basic Arthritis class and progresses to an endurance component with longer periods of increased, sustained activity than the basic program. PLUS is not an aqua aerobics class but may include intensity and resistance variations and equipment.

Water Works
The perfect choice for an awesome aerobic workout to burn fat and have fun. You will learn basic moves with intensity options and technique cues. A great class to challenge each muscle group for strength, firming and definition. Enjoy a soothing cool-down and stretch at the end.

Mermaids
A class exclusively for women of all ages and sizes. Even if you are a non-swimmer or pregnant this aqua workout will help you improve cardio respiratory endurance, flexibility, and muscular strength and endurance. Our goal in this class, as in all of our aquatic classes, is to promote safe and effective exercises while improving health and having fun.

FINS
This class is for kids 7-12 years old. Kids must be able to swim for prolonged periods. Kids will learn all competitive swim strokes. This is a fun, structured class offered during the school year.
